The Egyptian Ministry of Industry and Foreign Trade, with Decrees 991/2015 and 43/2016, established new requirements for export to Egypt, expanding the list of products intended for the consumer market and introducing the obligation for manufacturers or trademark owners of regulated goods to register with the GOIEC (General Organization for Export & Import Control).

It is also mandatory to use the Advance Cargo Information (ACI) system connected to the Nafeza platform, through which Egyptian importers register incoming shipments, and to the Cargo X platform through which exporters to Egypt present in advance the documents necessary for customs clearance directly to the Egyptian Customs Authority.
